Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People training
I'm Shelley, and I teach the Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People qualification in Cheltenham, in individual dated sessions.
What this training is, and who it's for
This training runs as individual dated sessions rather than one fixed course booking, so you can see exactly what's coming up and book the sessions that fit around your training. It's for trainee counsellors already qualified at Level 4 and working toward Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People. Level 4 means you're qualified as a counsellor; Level 5 is where you specialise, and Level 4 is required before you can start Level 5 training.
This Level 5 training and supervision qualification sits under the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body, CPCAB, the UK examining board and awards organisation. CPD training and workshops are separate: they don't sit under CPCAB, they run shorter, and what they ask of you beforehand varies. This page covers Level 5 only.
What you leave able to do is set out session by session below, since each one covers different ground. The qualification itself is built around one thing: bringing counselling skills into work with children and young people.

Who this suits
Trainee counsellors already qualified at Level 4 and working toward Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People. CPD training and workshops are a different, shorter format with their own varying prerequisites, and aren't covered on this page.
Prerequisites
You need to be qualified at Level 4 before starting this Level 5 training.
Group size
Minimum 6 at the moment, maximum 20 per session.
